A big fall is being seen in the domestic stock market on Thursday. At 10:26 am, BSE Sensex was seen trading at the level of 72926.06 with a sharp fall of 540.33 points. Similarly, Nifty of National Stock Exchange also collapsed and it was seen trading at the level of 22142.95 points with a sharp fall of 159.55 points. Benchmark equity indices opened Thursday’s trading session negative. In early trade, NSE Nifty 50 opened 77.70 points or 0.35% lower at 22,224.80, while BSE Sensex opened marginally higher by 33.10 points at 73,499.49. The Bank Nifty index opened 44.75 points down at 47,976.35. Later the market started falling.

Initial trends in the index

Only 10 out of 30 stocks on the BSE Sensex were in the green, while 16 out of 50 stocks on the Nifty 50 were in the green. In early trade, Nifty Metal Index, Nifty IT Index, Nifty PSU Bank Index, Nifty Bank, Nifty Financial Services Index, Nifty Pharma Index, Nifty Realty Index Nifty Auto, Nifty CPSE Index were seen trading in the green. Talking about weak stocks, L&T, TCS and Tech Mahindra emerged as top losers. Apart from these, SKF, Hero MotoCorp, Kirloskar Oil saw gains, while PEL looked weak.

Talking about the international market, stocks in Asia remained mixed with gains in Japan and China and decline in Australia and South Korea. U.S. futures fell after the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 indexes finished broadly flat on Wednesday, trimming losses at megacaps following a series of corporate updates, according to Live Mint.
