India TV Poll: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has decided to leave Amethi Lok Sabha seat and contest elections from Rae Bareli. In fact, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi had to face defeat from Amethi seat. He was defeated by BJP candidate Smriti Irani. However, Rahul Gandhi was successful in winning from Wayanad seat of Kerala. This time once again it seemed that Rahul Gandhi will stake his claim on Amethi Lok Sabha seat along with Wayanad. But he changed his decision and filed nomination for Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat instead of Amethi. Now on this issue, India TV took the pulse of the public through its poll, on which shocking answers were received.
Rahul Gandhi should have contested elections from Amethi only?
We had asked the public in our poll that ‘Should Rahul Gandhi have contested the elections from Amethi only?’ For this, we had given three options to the public – ‘Yes’, ‘No’ and ‘Can’t say’. The public participated enthusiastically in this poll. We got a chance to know the opinion of a total of 17519 people. Most of the people were of the opinion that Rahul Gandhi should have contested the elections from Amethi only.
How was the result of the poll in statistics?
Talking about the figures, a total of 17519 people took part in this voting. Most of them, i.e. 67 percent, believed that Rahul Gandhi should have contested the elections from Amethi. 26 percent people were of the opinion that Rahul should not have contested the Lok Sabha elections from Amethi. Whereas 7 percent people chose the option of not saying.
