The three phases of Lok Sabha elections 2024 have ended. Now 4 phases of elections are about to be held. However, in the meantime the election of Bathinda seat of Punjab has become interesting. Here BJP has given ticket to IAS officer Parampal Kaur Sidhu. Sidhu’s resignation has been accepted by the Central Personnel Department. But the Punjab government has refused to give him exemption from the 3 months notice period and has asked him to take up his post immediately. On the other hand, now Parampal Kaur Sidhu has also come in the mood of Arya Paar. She has clearly said that the Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab can take any step against her, but she will definitely contest the Lok Sabha elections.

What is the whole controversy?

BJP has made IAS officer Parampal Kaur Sidhu its candidate from Bathinda Lok Sabha seat of Punjab. Parampal Kaur Sidhu, while resigning from the post of IAS, had requested to waive the condition of three months notice period. However, the Punjab government has rejected his request. The government has said that relaxation in the notice period can be given only by the state government and that too if it is satisfied for reasons recorded in writing.

Parmapal Kaur Sidhu replied

Responding to the state government, Parampal Kaur Sidhu has said that she has already been relieved by the central government. Sidhu said that she will give her answer to the state government after the Lok Sabha elections to be held in Punjab on June 1. He said that the AAP government just wants to waste their time. Sidhu said that I can do whatever I want to do after my retirement.

Punjab government had given instructions to return to work

The Punjab government, in its letter sent to Parampal Kaur Sidhu, has said that the state government has still not waived the notice period of three months required under Rule 16(2) and no order regarding accepting VRS has been issued. Has not been released. In the letter, the government has said that Sidhu cannot be considered retired or relieved from service. Therefore, he should immediately return to his work otherwise appropriate action will be taken against him. (input language)
