Voting for three phases of Lok Sabha elections has ended. All the parties have put in their full strength in the fourth phase of election campaign. Where the opposition is questioning the functioning of the NDA government. At the same time, the leaders of BJP including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his coalition parties are present among the public taking account of the government’s 10 years of development work and are also continuously presenting among the public their thinking of accelerating the development of the country. . In such a situation, the challenger to PM Modi in this election seems to be missing.

What are election analysts saying?

Election analysts are also continuously predicting that PM Modi will take power for the third consecutive time and form the next government. Predictions have been made regarding the number of seats for BJP and NDA. Every serious election analyst agrees that NDA is ahead of the opposition in this election campaign for Modi 3.0. For the opposition parties to take the lead in this election, it is necessary to first try to bring their ideas among the public, communicate with the people etc. But, all this is missing from the opposition in this election campaign.

PM Modi gained dominance through stormy election tours

On the other hand, immediately after the announcement of elections, PM Modi held 9 rallies in March, 68 in April and 26 in May. PM Modi has given more than 24 interviews so far, taking out time from his busy election campaign. He has given interviews to national channels as well as regional language channels. Along with this, he has also given interviews to media outlets. PM Modi has done 21 road shows so far after the announcement of Lok Sabha elections. Along with this, to stay connected with the people, he has been making countless visits to temples and Gurudwaras and has also been meeting eminent people and common citizens.

Rahul Gandhi missing from election campaign

At the same time, if we look at the way of campaigning of the biggest opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ started by him ended on March 17 after the announcement of elections. Since then, till May 8, Rahul Gandhi has addressed 39 public meetings, which includes 1 in March, 29 in April and 10 in May. Along with this, there are many places in these public meetings where the chances of Congress winning are very less or negligible. However, the figures of these public meetings of Rahul may be higher. Rahul Gandhi has not yet given any interview in front of the media. However, some press conferences have been held during the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ and meetings with the constituent parties of the Indi alliance.

Leaders challenging PM Modi missing from election campaign

Now the question is that how can a leader of a strong opposition party address less than one-third of the rallies as compared to PM Modi to stop PM Modi from getting a third term. At the same time, when the Lok Sabha election campaign is at its peak, how can any opposition leader remain absent from the election campaign for a long time. Why is any opposition leader who talks about challenging PM Modi not giving interviews in mainstream or alternative media? All these facts indicate that the challengers to PM Modi in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections seem to be missing. (With IANS inputs)
