New Delhi. Amid the controversy over racist remarks, Sam Pitroda on Wednesday resigned from the post of President of the Indian Overseas Congress. His decision has been accepted by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said, “Sam Pitroda has decided to step down from the post of President of the Indian Overseas Congress on his own will. The Congress President has accepted his decision.”

what did pitroda say
“We have been living in a very pleasant environment for 75 years, where people can live together, barring a few fights,” Pitroda said in a podcast. “We can keep a diverse country like India united,” Pitroda said in the interview, which was widely circulated on social media. While the people of the East look like Chinese, the people of the West look like Arabs, the people of the North look like whites and the South Indians look like Africans.” He said, “It doesn’t matter, we are all sisters and brothers. In India, people of different regions have different customs, food, religion, language, but the people of India respect each other.

PM Modi attacked Congress and Rahul Gandhi
After this statement of Sam Pitroda, considered close to Rahul Gandhi, the ruling BJP is attacking Congress. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “I am very angry today friends! If someone abuses me, I don’t get angry. I tolerate it. But today the prince’s philosopher has abused me so much that it has filled me with anger.”

Insulting countrymen on the basis of skin color
Referring to Rahul Gandhi displaying a copy of the Constitution in his election rallies, PM Modi said that the people ‘dancing’ with the Constitution on their heads are insulting the countrymen on the basis of skin colour. Modi said, “Prince, you will have to answer. My country will not tolerate insulting my countrymen on the basis of skin colour, and Modi certainly will not. Modi also said that he now knew why Congress had tried to defeat Murmu in the presidential elections despite Murmu having such a reputation.

“I came to know today that the prince has an uncle who lives in America,” he said, apparently in reference to Sam Pitroda. Uncle is his philosopher and guide.” He said, “The prince’s philosopher and guiding uncle has revealed a big secret. He said that those with dark skin color are all from Africa.”

Modi alleged that this means he (Pitroda) has insulted many people of the country on the basis of skin colour. Modi said that no matter the skin color, the countrymen worship Lord Shri Krishna, whose skin color was like all of us. (with agency input)
