Director Sangeet Sivan passes away
Filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan died on May 8 in Mumbai. He said goodbye to the world at the age of 61. However, the cause of his death has not been revealed yet. The film industry has suffered a huge blow with the demise of director Sangeet Sivan, who took the careers of many Tollywood and Bollywood stars from Bobby Deol to Riteish Deshmukh to the pinnacle. Actor Ritesh Deshmukh has expressed grief over the director’s demise by writing a long emotional post on social media. His demise is very sad for South and Hindi film industry.

Sangeetha Sivan has worked extensively not only in Malayalam but in the Hindi film industry and has directed many hit films. She was best known for the cult film ‘Yodha’ with Mohanlal. In Hindi, he directed ‘Kya Kool Hain Hum’, ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’ and ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’. Film lovers and celebrities are in shock after knowing the news of Sivan’s death.
Ritesh Deshmukh expressed grief
Expressing his condolences on his ex, Riteish Deshmukh, who worked with Sivan in ‘Kya Kool Hain Hum’ and ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’, wrote, ‘Deeply saddened and shocked to know that Sangeet Sivan sir is no more. All you ever wanted was for everyone to believe in you and give you a chance to work… Kya Kool Hain Hum Aur Apna Sapna Money Money Mein Apne has supported us a lot, I can’t thank you enough for that.
About Sangeeth Sivan
Sangeeth Sivan was the eldest son of photographer and cinematographer Sivan and brother of Santosh Sivan and Sanjeev Sivan. He wrote and directed the film ‘Vyuham’ starring Raghuvaran and Sukumaran. This was his first directorial film of 1990. He directed three blockbuster films with Mohanlal including ‘Yodha’, ‘Gandharvam’ and ‘Nirnayam’. He also made Bollywood films like ‘Chura Liya Hai Tumne’, ‘Kya Kool Hain Hum’, ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’. He made a comeback with ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’.
