Dam doors opened after heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir

India on Thursday opened two doors of the Bagihar Dam located in Ramban, Jammu and Kashmir. After heavy rains in Ramban, the doors have been opened after the water level of the Bagihar Dam (Bagalihar Hydroelectric Power Project Dam) on the Chenab River has been opened. Let us tell you that after the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam on 22 April, India had closed all the dams, through which water used to go to Pakistan.

Heavy rains in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir

Heavy rains have been recorded in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir, including Ramban. Apart from this, incidents of cloudburst and mudslide in Ramban have also come to light. Due to these incidents, the water level of the dam was increasing rapidly, due to which the doors of the dam had to be opened today. Along with the Bagihar dam, the gates of Salal Dam have also been opened. There has been a threat of floods in Pakistan due to the release of huge amount of water from two-two dams simultaneously.

NH-44 damaged due to Madslide in Ramban

Deputy-Commerce Basir-ul-Haq Chaudhary said the national highway administration is a priority of the national highway administration and they are trying to evacuate general travelers and vehicles. He said that the administration appeals to the people to plan their journey as per traffic consultation. District officials are making efforts to restore damaged roads. The NH-44 has been damaged due to Madaslide in Ramban, which is being corrected.

Operation vermilion continues against Pakistan

In response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India started Operation Sindoor on the night of May 6 and 7, which continues on 8 May today. In the attacks carried out after 1 pm on May 7, India destroyed many terrorist bases that were flourishing in Pakistan. Furious with this action of India, Pakistan attacked common citizens in the tail of Kashmir, in which many innocents lost their lives.
