Fifa World Cup Qualifier 2026: England won the second consecutive consecutive win in the FIFA World Cup qualifier by defeating Latvia 3–0 at the Wambali Stadium on Monday (March 24) thanks to the Reece James’ brilliant free-kick goal and the first international goal of Aberechi AJ. James, who returned to the initial XI after two and a half years, scored a brilliant free-kick in a 37th minute from a distance of 25 meters. This was the first goal for England in his 18th match. Subsequently, veteran striker Harry Kane gave England 2–0 in the 68th minute with the help of young midfielder Morgan Rogers and Declan Rice. In the 76th minute, AJ confirmed England’s victory by scoring a third goal.
Earlier, England had defeated Albania 2–0 in their first qualifier match and is now considered to be a strong contender for the top position in the group. At the same time, Albania made a strong comeback by defeating Andora 3–0. In this match, Ray Manaj scored two goals in the first half, while Myrto Uzuni added the third goal to the stoppage time.
Poland defeated Malta
In Group G, Poland won over Malta thanks to Karol Swidarsky’s two goals, leading to the top with the second consecutive win. On the other hand, Finland had to play a 2–2 draw against Lithuania despite taking a two-goal lead. Poland is now at the top of the group with six points, while Finland ranks second with four points. In Group H, Bosnia Herzegovina defeated Cyprus 2–1 on her home ground, while Romania defeated San Marino 5–1 and opened her account in the qualifier.
