Salary of mps: There is going to be a tremendous increase in the salary of all the MPs of the country. Not only this, the daily allowances of MPs are also going to increase. Along with this, the pension received by former MPs is also going to increase. MPs currently get a salary of Rs 1 lakh every month, which is being increased by 24 percent to Rs 1.24 lakh. The daily allowance given to MPs is also being increased from Rs 2000 to Rs 2500. Along with this, the monthly pension of former parliaments is being increased from Rs 25,000 to Rs 31,000.
MPs will get a total of 2.54 lakh rupees every month
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs said that this increase in the salary of MPs, daily allowances and pension of former MPs will be applicable from April 1, 2023. These changes have been made using the powers received by the Salary, Allow and Pension Act, 1954 of the Members of Parliament and it is based on the Cost Inflation Index mentioned in the Income Tax Act, 1961. Calling the allowances of salary, constituency and office, existing MPs will now get a total salary of Rs 2,54,000 every month. Apart from salary, MPs get Rs 70,000 every month as constituency allowance and Rs 60,000 every month for office allowance.
