Bengaluru: The statement of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosbale has come to light amid the ongoing debate on the decision of the Karnataka government to give four percent reservation to Muslims in government contracts. He said on Sunday that the Constitution does not allow religion -based quota. Such reservation is against the constitution written by BR Ambedkar.
The courts have rejected the provisions of such reservation
In a press conference in Bengaluru to conclude the three -day meeting of the Union (RSS )’s highest deciding organization ‘All India Representatives’, Hosbale said, “Religion -based reservation has not been accepted in the constitution written by Babasaheb Ambedkar. Any person doing so is going against our constitution maker. ”He also said that the efforts to implement religion-based reservation for Muslims made by undivided Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra in the past were rejected by the High Courts and the Supreme Court. Hosbale emphasized that the courts have rejected the provisions of such reservation.
“Attractive mentality” threat to India
On the question about the controversy over Aurangzeb’s tomb in Maharashtra, the Sangh leader said that Aurangzeb was glorified, not his brother Dara Shikoh who was a person who believed in social harmony. Hosbale said that people going against the values of India were made ideal. He praised personalities like Rajput king Maharana Pratap to oppose the Mughal emperor Akbar and said that those who resisted the invaders were also ‘freedom fighters’. The RSS leader claimed that people with “invading mentality” pose a threat to India. He said, “We should stand with those who support Indian values.”
Everything is running smoothly
Asked whether the RSS believes that it should explain his views to the Center on some matters, Hosbale said that there is no need for it because everything is going on smoothly. RSS’s Sarkaryavah said, “The Sangh does not tell the government about the work done day by day, but whenever people raise some issues, the RSS workers working in various fields of various organizations send their message. We have a system where such things are discussed. ”
Ram temple achievement of the entire Hindu society
Asked if the RSS considers the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya as its achievement, he said that this temple is not only the achievement of the Sangh, but it is the achievement of the entire Hindu society. On the issue of eradication of casteism, Hosbale said that the Sangh branches are ideal forums to resolve the issue and highlighted that there were many inter -caste marriages among the Sangh volunteers. On the question asked about the appointment of the new national president of BJP, the RSS leader said that the Sangh does not interfere in the internal affairs of the party. (Language)
