24 -year -old Vignesh Puthur is a left -arm wrist spinner. Puthur, a resident of Malappuram, Kerala, started playing cricket at the age of 11. Puthur’s father is an auto rickshaw driver by profession. Due to his slightly unconventional bowling action, he came into the limelight. He was part of the Alleppey Riples team in the inaugural session of the Kerala Cricket League. Puthur took only three wickets in the tournament, but the attention of the scouts of Mumbai Indians attracted him, who invited him for trial. Vignesh Puthur has not yet represented Kerala in domestic cricket, but has already acquired the IPL contract before that.
