WhatsApp banned accounts of crores of users.

WhatsApp is used fiercely all over the world including India. It has crores of users. Meta -owned platform has taken a big action in India. Whatsapp has set a new record of banning millions of accounts in India. WhatsApp has banned the accounts of about one crore Indian users within a month. Such a step by the company has been taken to curb fraud cases.

WhatsApp is constantly tightening its rules to prevent growing online fraud on social media platforms. According to the information shared by the company, between January 1 to January 30, 2025, more than 99 lakh Indian users’ WhatsApp account was banned. This is the first time that such a large number of accounts have been banned by the instant messaging app.

Automated system keeps an eye

WhatsApp said in its Compliance Report that out of the banned accounts, about 13.27 lakh accounts were banned proactive before receiving reports from users. Let us tell you that the automated system of WhatsApp also closely tracks the activity of the users. It immediately bans that account when there is any kind of suspicious behavior or spam messaging.

In addition to WhatsApp’s automated banners, around 9,474 complaints were filed in January. Out of these, he was banned while taking action on 239 accounts. Explain that in WhatsApp, there is an option to complain and report against each contact. If you feel that some users are bothering you, then you can report it. You will find the option to report in the settings of the chat box of that contact.
