Rain water entered hospital

In Odisha, there has been a huge loss of life and property due to lightning with rain and hailstorm. Unseasonal rains damaged crops and two people died due to celestial lightning. Officials said on Saturday that in the last 24 hours, at least two people died due to rain, thunderstorms and lightning at different places in Odisha. 67 others are injured and more than 600 houses have been damaged.

On Saturday, two people died due to lightning in Ganjam and Puri districts and 67 people were injured when hailstorm in Mayurbhanj district. He said that the condition of seven of them is critical and he has been admitted to Mayurbhanj District Headquarters Hospital. A report from Ganjam district states that many areas of the district received rain with thunderstorms and lightning.

Student died home

Due to unseasonal rains, there was waterlogging in many areas of Barahampur city. A student of class 10 died after lightning on Saturday near Narayanpur in Patrapur block of Ganjam district. The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Kumar Gaur (15). Officials said that he was returning to his home from Bamkei, when he died on the spot due to lightning. According to the report from Puri district, Manoj Kumar Nayak (23) died due to lightning in Gobardhanpur village on Saturday. He went to the paddy field to drain the excess water caused by heavy rains with his parents. About 600 houses were damaged due to hailstorm in Mayurbhanj district.

Administration engaged in rescue work

District Collector Hema Kant Sai told reporters that the district administration has launched relief and rehabilitation campaign in two most affected blocks of Mayurbhanj and Bangiriposi blocks. Bisoi and Bangiriposi blocks have been badly affected by hailstorm. 350 houses have been completely damaged, while 250 other housing units are partially affected. The District Collector said that 18 villages under Bisoi and 39 villages of Bangiriposi block have been affected. He said that the administration has launched relief and rehabilitation campaign in both blocks. He said that people whose houses have been destroyed are being provided polythene sheets, cooked and dry food as per the rules.

Minister said- big loss

Odisha’s Urban Development Minister KC Mahapatra visited the Bisoi area on Saturday and said “There is a huge loss because many people have been destroyed in hailstorm. The Chief Minister is aware of the incidents and people will be compensated within two days. Apart from Mayurbhanj, officials said that there have Has been in the last 36 hours in the last 36 hours, hailstorm has caused havoc.

IMD told- no relief for three days

The Indian Meteorological Department on Saturday has projected thunderstorms and strong winds in several parts of Odisha over the next three days on Saturday. Meanwhile, firefighters were saved by firefighters when rain and drainage entered the slum in Subudhi Colony of Barhampur town in Ganjam district. Burhampur fire officer Thakur Prasad Dalei said, “When the water entered the houses, other people came out of their homes, but the woman could not come out. After receiving the information, our employees reached the area and rescued it.”

Rain water also entered the MKCG Medical College Hospital in Barhampur town, causing patients to face problems. The Meteorological Center of Bhubaneswar said in its evening bulletin that in the next 24 hours, the winds can blow at a speed of 50-60 kilometers per hour with thunderstorms at some places in Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh and Sundargarh districts. During this period, heavy rains (7 to 11 cm) and thunderstorms are likely to fall at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts.

IMD released alert

Orange warning has been issued by the Meteorological Agency for all these districts in view of the expected weather conditions. Similarly, in the next 24 hours, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonpur, Buddhist, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Puri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Raigadha, Koraput and Malkangiri districts remain in one or two places in one or two places with strong winds with lightning at one or two places with strong winds with lightning.
