Australia’s women’s cricket team has suffered a major setback on New Zealand tour. The team’s all -rounder Ashley Gardner is out of the ongoing T20I series between New Zealand and Australia. In the first match, Ashley Gardner was able to bowl only 2.2 overs. Gardner sat in the first T20I match played in Auckland, bowling in the 17th over of New Zealand’s innings and injured herself in an attempt to catch a catch. After this he had to go out of the field. It is now reported that Gardner has a fracture in his finger, due to which she will no longer be able to play in the remaining two matches of the series. Cricket Australia said in a statement on Saturday, March 22 that when returning to Sydney, the finger of Ashley Gardner would be scanned and the specialist would be consulted.

Cricket Australia has also announced his replacement after Ashley Gardner was out. Queensland’s 22 -year -old unaccounted batting all -rounder Charlie Notn has been included in the team for the remaining two matches of the series. In the first match, Australia won a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series. Australia started their campaign in the series, winning New Zealand in a unilateral manner.

Batting first, the New Zealand team could score only 138 runs after losing 2 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Australia achieved a target of 139 runs in the 14th over thanks to openers Bath Muni and Georgia Wole. Beth Muni scored an unbeaten 75 runs while Georgia Wole scored 50 off 31 balls. Alice Parry returned unbeaten after scoring 3 runs. The second match of the series will now be played on Sunday, 23 March and the last match will be played on Wednesday, 26 March.
