The court has announced a sentence in the case of burning a leopard alive in Pauri district of Uttarakhand a few years ago. The court sentenced 5 villagers, including the then village head of Sopladi village of Pauri, to 1-1 years of simple imprisonment. Along with this, a fine of Rs 35-35 thousand has also been imposed on the culprits. Let us tell you that this case is of the year 2022 when a leopard who created terror was burnt alive by the villagers.
What is the whole matter?
In fact, in the year 2022, leopards created terror in many villages including Bhatti village, Sardra, Kul Mori and Saplaudi in Pabau area of Pauri district. On 15 March 20222, Sushma Devi of Sapladi village was hunted by leopard. After this, the leopard was caught with the help of the forest department. However, people burnt him to death.
Leopard burnt alive
The next day after the death of the village woman, the forest department put two cages in Sapladi village on the demand of villagers. One leopard was captured in one of these cages. When the people of the forest department went to the village to take the leopard imprisoned in the cage, a large number of villagers gathered there. The villagers set the leopard alive. After this, the police had filed a case against five nominated and 150 unidentified people in various sections on the Tahrir of Van Daroga.
1-1 year jail sentence
The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Pauri on Thursday convicted village head Anil Kumar Negi, Devendra Singh of Chopra village, Sarita Devi of Sarda village, Bhuvaneshwari Devi and Kailashi Devi. The court has sentenced them all to 1-1 year jail and imposed a fine of Rs 35-35 thousand. For not paying the fine, everyone will have to complete the sentence of imprisonment of 15 days.
