IPL 2025
The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has made some major changes in the rules for the IPL 2025 season. He has now implemented a demerit point system for the captains of the IPL team instead of the ban for slow over rate. BCCI has now decided to implement the demerit point system in this league like international cricket. The most different thing in this is that, the demerit point system will not only apply to the slow-over rate and captains, but it has been included in the entire code of conduct, under which action will be taken on the players and coaching staff.
This is how demerit points will be found
According to the report of Cricbuzz, now any player or team will be given demerit points like international cricket in exchange for violations of the code of conduct, which will remain in the account of that player or team for exactly 36 months i.e. 3 years. Players will be punished on the basis of this demerit point. If a player violates Level-1, he can be fined 25 percent match fee and 1 demerit point. 4 demerit points will be installed from those who violate 3 rules on important level-2. At the same time, 5-6 demerit points will be installed on players for violation of Level-3 and 7-8 demerit points on Level-4.
Players can be banned for so many matches
Till now we told you how the players will get demerit points. Now we tell you how many punishment will be given at how many demerites points. According to Article 7.6 of the Code of Conduct, a match will be banned at 4 to 7 demerit points. At the same time, there will be a ban of two matches on 8-11 points. If 12-15 demerit points are added to the player’s account within 3 years, then 3 matches can be banned and if someone has 16 demerit points in his account, then he can be banned 5 matches.
