There is now only a few days left for the beginning of the 18th season of the Indian Premier League, with which the BCCI also held a meeting in Mumbai on March 19 with the captains of all 10 franchises. At the same time, before the start of the upcoming season, there has been news of a change in the schedule, in which it has been decided to conduct the match played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Janents at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata due to security concerns.
Decision taken on 6 April due to Ram Navami
Ramnavami will also be celebrated in the country on this match to be played on 6 April between KKR and Lucknow Super Gynts, keeping in mind which the Kolkata Police made it clear from the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal that it would be difficult for them to provide security arrangements in the match. Regarding this, cab president Snehashish Ganguly said in his statement to news agency PTI that more than 20000 processions will come out in Kolkata city on the day of Ram Navami, due to which the security arrangements will not be made on the match day. He further said that we have also informed the BCCI about this, in which now this match will be in Guwahati.
Kolkata Knight Riders will play under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane
KKR’s team had a tremendous performance in the last season of IPL, in which they also won the title. At the same time, before the mega auction, KKR had shocked everyone by deciding not to retain its captain Shreyas Iyer. After which he made Ajinkya Rahane a part of his team in the auction, which will now also take responsibility for the team captaincy in the coming season. On March 22, its first match of the KKR season will play against the Royal Challengers Bangalore team at its Home Ground Eden Gardens Stadium.
