Eid kit will be distributed to Muslims
Dehradun: On Thursday, the Uttarakhand Waqf Board decided to distribute free food kits to poor Muslims on the occasion of Eid. Chairman of Uttarakhand Waqf Board Shadab Shams said that this packet named ‘Modi-Dhami’ kit will include two liters of milk, two kilograms of rice, one kilogram of sugar, a packet and dried fruits.
Free clothes will be given to children
Shams said that this decision was taken in the first online meeting of the board. He told that apart from these kits, free clothes will also be given to children as gifts. Shams said that a temporary state -level Waqf Tribunal would also be formed by the end of this month to settle the pending cases of large -scale encroachments on Waqf’s properties. It was also decided in the meeting that the tenants of Waqf properties being used for commercial purposes be charged at market rate or prevailing circle rate.
Action will be taken against these people after Eid
The chairman of the Waqf Board said, “Currently the board is getting only Rs 100-150 fare from its properties worth thousands of rupees. We have decided to finish it and collect the fare from them according to the market or circle rate so that the amount raised in this way can be used for the poor. (With language inputs)
