The Board of Control for Cricket in India has implemented some new rules before the beginning of the 18th season of the upcoming Indian Premier League, in which some rules have been replaced. At the same time, the BCCI has decided to change the rules of ban on captains in the case of violation of the slow over rate rule after a meeting with all the 10 captains held in Mumbai on 20 March.

Now demerit points will join the captains’ account

The BCCI has now decided to add a demerit point to their account in case of violation of the slow over rate rule on captains in the IPL. According to the report of the cricbing, now the captains will be given demerit points like ICC rules in the slow over rate rule which will last for three years. This new rule will now reduce the risk of banning the captains. Violation of Level 1 will be fined 25 to 75 percent of the captain’s match fees, while the demerit point will also be added to his account. On the other hand, if a captain violates Level 2, then four demerit points will be added to his account. Any captain who has four demerit points can also impose a match referee penalty or decide to add additional demerit points. At the same time, the captain may also have to face the ban in future.

Hardik will be out of the first match of this season due to this rule
