BJP leader in custody in Tamil Nadu.

DMK and Bharatiya Janata Party have come face to face in Tamil Nadu politics. The BJP announced a protest against alleged irregularities in liquor retail government shops (Tasmac). However, earlier on Monday, several party officials including Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai have been taken into custody by the police.

What is the whole matter?

In fact, the Bharatiya Janata Party had announced a sit -in at Tasmac headquarters in the city against the alleged irregularities of Rs 1,000 crore. Let us know that recently the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has claimed about this alleged scam. Police on Monday detained Annamalai along with his supporters near his house.

What is the charge of ED?

The ED claims that several irregularities have been detected in the management of Tasmac. This includes a unaccounted cash transaction of Rs 1,000 crore through manipulation and distillery companies in tender processes. The central agency ED claimed that on March 6, TASMAC employees, distillery offices and plants found these evidences.

BJP will continue opposing- Annamalai

Annamalai has claimed in a social media post that the police have placed senior party leaders including Tamilisai Sundararajan in the house. Apart from this, the party’s Mahila Morcha chief and Coimbatore South MLA Vanthi Srinivasan, party leader Vinoj P. Selvam and Amar Prasad Reddy have also been taken into custody by the police. Annamalai has said that there have been irregularities of Rs 1000 crore in Tasmac. The BJP will continue the protest against the matter. (input language)
