Team India veteran batsman Virat Kohli made a big statement on Saturday, March 15. He told that perhaps he has no time left to have a second tour of Australia. Speaking at the RCB Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit, Kohli said that he is satisfied with what happened in the previous border-Gavaskar Trophy. Kohli’s performance in the Border -Gavaskar series 2024-25 was very poor. In that series, India suffered a 3–1 defeat against the Australia team. However, Kohli scored a century in the first match of the series. But after that his form kept falling. Kohli scored 190 runs in 5 Tests at an average of 23.75. Meanwhile, Kohli spoke openly on his performance in the Border-Gavaskar series and said that he cannot go to Australia on the next tour of India. He said that he was very disappointed with his own performance on Australia tour. So bad was not so bad even after the tour of England in 2014.

Kohli said, Australia tour that ended recently disappointed him a lot. Earlier in 2014, England’s Test tour had harassed him for a long time, but on the 2018 tour, I equalized him. I do not know whether I will be able to go on a tour of Australia after 4 years, so I am satisfied with whatever happened. The legendary batsman further said that when you play international cricket for a long time, people start expecting a lot from you. When you play badly, people feel worse than you. Kohli could not do anything special in the Test series against New Zealand before the Australia tour. In 2024, he played 10 Tests and during this time he was able to score only one century and a half -century.
Virat could not perform well due to pressure
Kohli further said, he started paying more attention to external things. He started thinking that there are only 2-3 days left of the tour, they have to perform. This thinking put more pressure on him and his performance went on deteriorating. After a century in the first Test, he also started increasing expectations from himself. He expected runs, but it did not happen. He did not even want to take a decision in a hurry. He spent time with the family, let things calm down. They thought, let what happened, now they have to focus further.
