New Delhi:
Reliance Jio announced a new partnership on March 12, under which Reliance Group’s company Jio Platforms (Jio Platforms), along with Alan Musk’s SpaceX, is going to bring Starlink Satellite Internet Service to India. The company has given this information in an exchange filing on 12 March.
This step has been taken immediately after the agreement with Airtel, which will improve internet connectivity in rural and remote areas. On the previous day i.e. March 11, Bharti Airtel has also signed a deal for Starlink Services with SpaceX.
Specialty of Jio-SpasX Deal
According to this agreement, Jio will provide starlink equipment through its retail outlets and online storefronts. Also, a support system will be developed for customer service, installation and activation. This service can be started only when SpaceX will get approval from the Indian Authority. The two companies aim to provide trusted broadband service to the entire country including the most remote areas of India.
What will be the benefit of live users?
Jio will try to provide economical and fast internet service, by connecting Starlink with its current broadband ecosystem, such as geoarfiber and geopyer. This step will ensure better connectivity in education, health, business and other fields. The company believes that it is their priority to deliver high speed broadband to every Indian users.
Following this agreement with Jio Airtel, the move is being seen as an important initiative towards the expansion of connectivity in the Indian telecom sector.
