New Zealand’s Will Young and Tom Latham running against Pakistan
Pakistan vs New Zealand ICC Champions Trophy 2025: The first match of the Champions Trophy 2025 is being played between Pakistan and New Zealand. In this match, Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and decided to bowl first, which proved to be wrong. New Zealand batsmen batted amazing. For the Kiwi team, Tom Latham and Will Young scored centuries, while Glen Philips also played a half -century innings. Two batsmen scored centuries for New Zealand

He scored 118 runs in 104 balls, including 10 fours and three sixes. He scored the 8th century of his ODI career. Apart from him, Will Young scored a brilliant 107 runs. This is the first time in the history of the Champions Trophy that two batsmen of a team have scored a century against Pakistan in a single match. This had never happened before. At the same time, two New Zealand players have scored centuries for the first time in a match of Champions Trophy.
Pakistani bowler flop
Haris Rauf proved to be the most expensive for Pakistan. He took 2 wickets for 83 runs in 10 overs. Apart from him, Shaheen Shah Afridi also could not show anything special and he took 68 runs in 10 overs. He could not get a single wicket. Nasim Shah scored 63 runs in 10 overs. These fast bowlers proved to be ineffective against New Zealand’s strong batting order. Khushdil Shah and Salman Ali Aga did not get a single wicket.
Due to poor performance by Pakistani bowlers, a score of 300 plus runs against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy for the second time. Earlier, in the Champions Trophy 2017 match, India set a target of 319 runs against Pakistan.
