Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has fiercely targeted Rahul Gandhi and Congress over the defeat of the Aam Aadmi Party in the Delhi Assembly elections. Vijayan on Wednesday alleged that the Congress now also celebrates the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Accusing the Congress of withdrawing from his commitment to counter the BJP in association with other parties, Vijayan said that Rahul himself led the campaign against the AAP in Delhi. He said that in this way where there was no possibility of Congress winning, he helped the BJP to come to power.
Vijayan lashed out at Congress in SFI meeting
Vijayan, while addressing its workers during a meeting organized under the 35th state conference of the Students Federation of India i.e. SFI, said, ‘Congress candidates were forfeited on 65 out of 70 assembly seats in Delhi, but Aam Aadmi Party He celebrated after losing the election to BJP. The Congress has become a party that now celebrates BJP’s victory. He alleged that the wrong political approach of the Congress helped the BJP win in Haryana and Maharashtra.
‘Congress does not look active about alliance’
Referring to the India alliance, Vijayan said that the alliance that turned the BJP’s expectations to get a two -third majority in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress is no longer active about it. The CM of Kerala claimed, ‘This was the Congress that made allegations of corruption against the AAP government in Delhi, due to which the central agencies intervened and arrested the then Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia. The Congress also demanded the arrest of Kejriwal. Congress always supported BJP in Delhi.
‘Union wants to control the universities of the country’
While warning the SFI members of the ‘efforts to saffronize the country’ of the Sangh Parivar, Vijayan said that the new draft notification of the UGC is nothing but its agenda to control the universities of the country. Vijayan said that despite his diversity, the whole country stood together in the freedom struggle. He claimed, “But not only one faction participated in it and its leaders had met the then British Viceroy and assured him that he had no conflict with the British.” (Language)
