Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change K.K. P. Malik has asked farmers to increase the production of pulses and oilseeds to reduce dependence on imports. Malik said in a press conference on Sunday that the government is paying more attention to the development program of pulses and oilseeds to reduce dependence on the import of edible oil. For better progress in this direction, it is necessary that farmers increase the production of pulses and oilseeds even more. Malik said that through the budget, the government aims to strengthen rural infrastructure and improve the economic condition of rural population.

Government will buy pulses from farmers

He said that by focusing on the cultivation of arhar, urad and lentils, the government will buy pulses from farmers for the next four years under the self -sufficiency mission in pulses. On the question of the increasing struggle between wildlife and humans, Malik said that the Uttar Pradesh government is fully aware of the conservation of wildlife and for this a seminar was organized in Hastinapur recently, in which the Wildlife and Forest Department Officers and school-college students participated.

Other places on the lines of Noida will also be developed for bird sanctuary

He said that soon on the lines of Noida, other places will also be developed for bird sanctuary according to the need. Work in this regard is in progress in Amangarh Range and Gorakhpur. On the other hand, Malik has given instructions to wildlife officials not to take any kind of laxity in maintaining a policy of zero human intervention in the Hastinapur eco -sensitive zone i.e. the sanctuary area and providing favorable environment to wildlife there.
