India vs England

The Champions Trophy 2025 is now just a few days left. The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will start from February 19 while the Indian team will start their campaign from 20 February. India will play their first match against Bangladesh in Dubai. Recently, Team India suffered a major setback when fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah got out of the Champions Trophy due to injury. Apart from this, young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was also dropped from the squad of the Champions Trophy. Now Yashasvi Jaiswal has got another major setback. Jaiswal has been ruled out of Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy semi -final match against Vidarbha in Nagpur on Monday, 17 February due to an ankle injury during training.

Jaiswal, who was originally in India’s Champions Trophy 2025 team, was later excluded as a change and the team management replaced Varun Chakraborty in the team. Although he was retained as a non-trimming reserve, he is now expected to return home. The Mumbai will not announce the replacement of Jaiswal for the semi -final match, as he already has players like Ajinkya Rahane, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dubey and Shardul Thakur. Of these, Dubey has also been selected as a non-trimming reserve in India’s Champions Trophy team.

Vidarbha in great form

Indian Test team opener Jaiswal recently made his ODI debut in the first ODI against England in Nagpur earlier this month, instead of Virat Kohli, who was out of the game due to a knee injury. Jaiswal scored just 15 runs in that match. Jaiswal has played only one match in the 2024-25 season of Ranji Trophy, which was a group match against Jammu and Kashmir. In this match, he scored 4 and 26 runs in two innings, in which Mumbai had to face defeat by five wickets. Mumbai’s semi -final against Vidarbha will recur the previous year’s title match. Vidarbha is in excellent form, he has won seven out of eight matches in this Ranji season. He has reached the semi -finals by defeating Tamil Nadu by 198 runs in the quarter -finals.

Mumbai’s team is as follows: Ajinkya Rahane (captain), Ayush Mhatre, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Amogh Bhatkal, Suryakumar Yadav, Siddhesh Lad, Shivam Dubey, Akash Anand (wicketkeeper), Hardik Tamore (wicketkeeper), Suryansh Shedge, Shardul Thakur, Shams Mulani, Tanush Kotian, Mohit, , Sylvester D’Souza, Royston Dies, Atharva Ankolekar, Harsh Tanna.
