In the Ranji Trophy 2024-25, the Mumbai team continued their brilliant performance under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane, defeating the Haryana team by 152 runs in the quarter-finals and confirmed their place for the semi-finals. His captain Rahane got a significant contribution with the bat in Mumbai’s victory in which he scored 108 runs in the team’s second innings. At the same time, Rahane also openly responded to the questions in the press conference after this match, in which he was also asked on his future plan. Apart from this, Rahane gave such an answer on the question of dropping from Team India that all the people present there were shocked.

I dropped despite performing well in WTC

Ajinkya Rahane said in his reply that I am not thinking much about the future. But I know that I am batting well. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, I have done very well and my form has been much better in the current season of Ranji. I batted well in the final of WTC 2023, but despite that I dropped. It is not in my hands to be selected or not and the selectors have to decide on it. At the same time, I think I did well in that final match. Apart from this, I feel that there is a lot of cricket in me. For this reason, I focused my full attention in domestic cricket and my goal is also on playing well with a better mindset and then what will happen next will be seen.

Rahane scored 437 runs so far this season of Ranji Trophy

Ajinkya Rahane, who has been out of Team India for a long time, has scored a total of 437 runs in 12 innings in the current season of Ranji Trophy. Apart from this, earlier in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he had scored a total of 469 runs in 8 innings at an average of 58.62. Rahane said about his performance that I have done well in domestic cricket and IPL in the last few seasons, it is clear that I still have a hunger for runs.
