Gymnastics of Maharashtra
Maharashtra won five gold and two silver medals on the fourth day of the gymnastics competition at the 38th National Games being held in Dehradun on 11 February. Maharashtra won the gold medal with 61.730 points in the Acrobatic Gymnastics Women’s Group (Senior) while West Bengal (51.540) won Silver and Karnataka (42.750) won the bronze medal. Similarly, Maharashtra in the men’s group (Senior) Gold with 64.650 points.
Kerala (61.210) won Silver and Karnataka (53.740) won the bronze medal. In the acrobatic mixed doubles (Senior), Riddhi Sachin Jaiswal and Shubham Sunil Sarkate of Maharashtra won the Goldmedal with 52.250 points while Maharashtra’s Dodhita Suresh and Rutuja Dattatreya topped the women’s doubles (senior) with 51.250 points.
Maharashtra puts golden punch
The fifth gold for Maharashtra was won by Ayush Sanjay Mule in the men’s trampoline event. He topped the top position with 48.740 points. In the men’s doubles (senior) event, Akkala Kumar and Qutubuddin Sheikh of Karnataka topped the top with 62.050 points while Maharashtra (61.020) and Haryana (59.840) won the silver and bronze medal respectively. Sheikh Yasin of Andhra Pradesh won the gold medal with 39.790 points in the trampolin women’s category. Chaitrali Rakhmaji (39.280) of Maharashtra and Preeti Maheshbhai (37. 800) of Gujarat won silver and bronze medals respectively.
Jyoti Yogi won 200 meters gold
Farrata runner Animesh Kujur and hurdles star player Jyoti Yaarai won the 200 meter event of men and women and won the third and second gold medal in the National Games respectively. On Tuesday itself, 15 walking players performed better than the record of the National Games, achieving unprecedented achievements. Prior to this, 21 -year -old Kujur of Odisha, who won the 100 meter and four x 400 meter title, won the gold medal in 200 meters with a time of 20.58 seconds. His time was slightly higher than the 20.55 second National Games records of Amlan Borgohen in Assam in 2022 in Gujarat.
Ragul Kumar ji (21.06 seconds) and Nitin B (21.07 seconds) of Tamil Nadu won the silver and bronze medal respectively. The gold medal winner of the hundred meter hurdles, 25 -year -old Yaraji of Andhra Pradesh, won the gold medal with a time of 23.35 seconds in the women’s 200 meter race.
