Jasprit bumrah: There are only a few days left for the Champions Trophy to begin, but before that Team India has got a big shock. India’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is out of the ICC Champions Trophy. There is a lot of disappointing news for the fans of Team India. BCCI gave this information. According to BCCI, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy due to lower back injury. The selection committee has included Harshit Rana in the team in place of Bumrah. This will be the second ICC tournament in which Bumrah will not be able to play due to injury. Earlier, he was also out of the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia due to back injury, due to which he had to undergo surgery eventually.
Jayaswal’s team discharged
Team India has also included Varun Chakraborty in the team. Spinner Varun Chakraborty will replace Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was initially included in the provisional team. Yashasvi Jaiswa is part of the ODI series being played between India and England. He played in the first match but could not do anything special. He was then not included in the playing XI of the second match.
The ICC had fixed February 11 for all eight teams for the Champions Trophy to hand over the list to its final 15 players. After this, teams will be required to take approval from the technical committee of the tournament for any change. BCCI announced the Indian team for the Champions Trophy and England Series in January. At that time Harshit Rana Rana was included as Bumrah’s back-up for the ODI series against England. After this, Rana managed to make his ODI debut in the first match against England in Nagpur.
India’s updated team for ICC Champions Trophy, 2025: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill (Vice-Qetan), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wicket-keeper), Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Hardik Pandya, Akshar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Varun Chakraborty.
Non Traveling Substitute: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammad Siraj and Shivam Dubey. All three players will go to Dubai if needed.
