The statement said that the Yogi Adityanath government of the state is constantly trying to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s concept of cleanliness. Due to this, preparations for Mahakumbh, the world’s biggest event, were started about four years ago. According to the statement, a ‘trash skimmer’ machine was installed for the devotees coming to bathe in the Sangam. Then this machine used to remove 50-60 quintals of garbage every day. In view of his functioning, another machine was bought by Prayagraj Municipal Corporation about two years ago. After this, the speed of cleaning the rivers doubled. The waste floating on the surface of the water is collected with the help of ‘Trash Skimar’.
Trash skimmer work?
The ‘trash skimmer’ machine is used to clean garbage in rivers, ports, and seas. This machine collects plastic, bottles, religious waste, clothes, metal items, worship waste, dead animals and birds etc. According to a municipal corporation official, the waste collected from the machine is put in a place near Naini. From there, this waste is taken daily from trains to the purification plant located in Baswar. Coconut, plastic and other ingredients are separated from this waste. Plastic is sent for recycling, while other ingredients are used in making manure.
