A stampede among cricket lovers for tickets outside Barabati Stadium
IND vs Eng Odie: ODI matches are going to be held between India and England on 9 February at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. Before that, there was a huge crowd to buy the match tickets. As soon as the sale of offline tickets started at 9 am on Wednesday, a huge crowd gathered outside the stadium, causing a stampede -like situation. Thousands of cricket fans were in line to take tickets together. During this time many people fainted.
Police had to use water gun
The police had to take additional steps to control the uncontrollable situation. The crowd had increased so much that the police had to use the water gun. The stadium’s entry and exit points were not stirred due to lack of proper arrangements. There was inconvenience from the crowd gathered there, which also affected traffic.
Many platoon forces were placed on alert
As soon as the incident was reported, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) along with his team immediately reached the spot. He put several platoon forces on alert to control the situation and tried to calm the crowd. The officials appealed to the fans to maintain peace and tried to normalize the situation as soon as possible.

After this incident, the administration took the situation seriously and said to take necessary steps to improve the ticket distribution system, so that such problems can be avoided further. The officials appealed to all cricket lovers to maintain peace and restraint.
