Sam Contas
Australia’s team is currently on a tour of Sri Lanka, where they also have to play two ODI series after the 2 -match Test series. In the first match of the Test series, the Australian team took a 1-0 lead by taking an innings and 242 runs. At the same time, the second and last match of the series between Sri Lanka and Australia will be played at Gaul’s stadium from 6 February. Just before this match, Kangaroo team’s youth opening batsman Sam Contas has left the team, in which he will now return home.
Contas will play for New South Wales in Sheffield Shield
Sam Contas is now returning home leaving the Sri Lanka tour in the middle, in which he will be seen playing with the New South Wales team at the Domestic First Class Tournament Sheffield Shield to be held in Australia. In the first 2 matches of his Test career, Sam Contas performed better but did not get a place in playing 11 in the first match of the Test series against Sri Lanka, in which the Travis Head with Usman Khwaja got a chance to open. The Head had played the best half -century innings, taking full advantage of this, now it has also been decided that he will not be a part of the playing 11 of the second Test.
Players should also get experience of domestic test grounds
Cricket Australia was informed about going back to Sam Constas back to Australia in which he wanted him to play on the Gaba ground for New South Wales in a match against Queensland and not sitting in the dressing room at Gaul Stadium See Australian selectors want players to have experience of playing on home test grounds. Sam Contas has not yet played in his career in first class cricket on the grounds of Gaba and Adelaide Oval.
