India and England will face face to face in the ODI series. The first ODI will be played in Nagpur from 6 February. Before this match, bad news has come for the England team. In the recently played 5-match T20I series, India beat England 4–1 badly. The England team had not yet fully recovered from the shock of this defeat that the team has suffered a major setback. The news of England wicketkeeper batsman Jamie Smith being injured has come to light 2 days before the first ODI.

Jamie Smith may be out of the first two ODIs of the three -match series against India due to the problem of Pindi, but it is expected that they will fit for the Champions Trophy. The wicketkeeper-batsman felt a problem in Pindi during the third T20I match in Rajkot, in which England had won the only win, and have been undergoing treatment since then. He played the second and third T20 matches in place of Jacob Bethel, but could not play the last two matches of the series due to injury.

According to the Daily Mail, 24 -year -old Jamie Smith will undergo a fitness test in the final match of the ODI series in Ahmedabad next Wednesday i.e. February 12, which is also the last date for the team to finalize the team for the Champions Trophy. Joe has joined England for the ODI stage of the root tour, but Smith’s absence is limiting his batting options. Root was to be included in the team in place of spinner Rehan Ahmed, but now he has been asked to stay in the ODI series as well.
