Karnataka star swimmers Srihari Natraj and Dhinidhi Desinghu ended their campaign at the 38th National Games on Tuesday with nine gold, which kept Karnataka’s dominance in the game. Karnataka won 22 medals from the swimming event of the National Games. Fourteen -year -old Desinghu achieved yellow tamag with a record time of these games of 57.34 seconds in the women’s 100m freestyle event. He improved his previous national record of 57.87 seconds recorded in 2023 Goa. Nataraja named the men’s 100m freestyle event in his name of 50.65 seconds.

Desinghu and Natraj, who represent the country at the Paris Olympics, then helped Karnataka win gold with a time of four minutes and 3.91 seconds in the mixed 4 x 100 meter medle. Desinghu, however, left behind his experienced partner in the state in terms of the total number of medals. He won a total of 11 medals including nine gold in these games. Earlier, he gave seven gold (400m freestyle, mixed four times 100 meter freestyle, 200 meter freestyle, 100 meter butterfly, four times 100 meter freestyle relay and 50 meter freestyle and four times 200 m freestyle relay), one silver (50 meter butterfly ) And a bronze (four x 100 meter relay medle) won.

Nataraja’s name 10 medals

24 -year -old Natraj ended the campaign with 10 medals. Earlier, he got seven gold 50 meter backstroke, mixed four times 100m freestyle, 200 meter freestyle, four times 100 meter freestyle relay, four times 100 m freestyle relay medle, four times 200 m freestyle relay and 100 meter backstroke. He also won a silver (50m freestyle). Natraj and Desinghu’s sports are expected to become the best male and female athlete. Nataraja won eight gold, one silver and one bronze in the Goa Games (2023).

The fourth gold of the day was won by Vidith S Shankar for Karnataka. He topped the men’s 100m breaststroke with a minute and 3.97 seconds in the men’s 100m breaststroke. Shankar was also part of the Karnataka team that won the gold medal in the mixed four x 100 meter medle. The fourth member of this team was Nayisha Shetty.
