Telecom companies got big relief.

Some other companies, including Aytelle, were penalty by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, or TRAI, due to failing to stop spam calls and messages. However, now Airtel has got a big relief. The penalty on Airtel has been banned by Telecom Disputes Settlement and Applete Tribunal (TDSAT).

TDSAT gave relief to telecom companies

According to media reports, some telecom companies were penalty by TRAI. Airtel appealed against this penalty at TDSAT. A penalty was also imposed on BSNL from TRAI but the government company did not appeal against it. Private telecom companies appealed against TRAI’s penalty. On behalf of telecom companies, it was told that when the penalty was imposed, the process of implementing the Digital Consent Acquisition Platform was going on. TDSAT has currently banned penalty due to allegations from both sides.

The next hearing on the penalty of TRAI will now be held on 13 February. It is believed that there is already pressure on the cash flow of telecom companies, so telecom companies do not want to pay penalty. This penalty of TRAI over telecom companies is around Rs 141 crore. Earlier, telecom companies have been fined under Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Preference Regulations.

TRAI implemented a new rule on 11 December

Let us tell you that TccCCPR was activated in the year 2010. The only objective of this is to protect the subscribers from spam calls and spam messages. The Message Trasability Rules from TRAI were implemented on 11 December last year. In this rule, telecom companies were asked to adopt such methods so that spam messages could be tracked and spam can be banned. This new rule includes the process of tracking the message from the sent to the message to the message. In this rule, those spam messages and promotional messages will be blocked which will not be registered.
