Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, while holding a press conference, gave information about the large scale investment in the area of ​​railway across the country with the state of Maharashtra. He said that an allocation of Rs 23,778 crore has been made for Maharashtra, which is 20 times more than the allocation made during the UPA government.

Renewing 132 railway stations

Ashwini Vaishnav said that the renewal of railway stations under the ‘Amrit Bharat Yojana’ in Maharashtra is also going on fast. 132 railway stations of Maharashtra are being renovated under this scheme. At the same time, he informed that so far 2,105 km of new railway tracks have been built in Maharashtra, which will make the state railway network stronger.

Investment in railway network across the country

The Railway Minister informed that Rs 1 lakh 70 thousand crore has been invested in railway network across the country, out of which only 1 lakh 60 thousand crore rupees have been allocated in the security of the railway.

Big investment in Mumbai suburban railway

He informed that Rs 15,000 crore has also been invested for Mumbai suburban railway. Apart from this, new tracks will be laid at a cost of Rs 700 to 800 crore to make Mumbai’s railway network even better.

Number of local trains in Mumbai

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that around 300 local trains are currently operating in Mumbai, which are an important part of the daily journey of millions of people of the city.

Expansion of railway projects in Mumbai

Along with this, he told that the work of the sixth railway line from Mumbai Central to Borivali is going to start soon. He said that railway projects worth Rs 16,400 crore are going on in Mumbai itself, which will make the city’s railway facilities modern and more competent.
