Sanju Samson
The Indian team won the fifth T20 match against England by 150 runs and along with this, also scored 4–1. But in the fifth T20 match, Team India’s star wicketkeeper Sanju Samson was injured. Jofra Archer’s ball was fractured in his index finger. For this reason, Dhruv Juril took over the responsibility of wicketkeeping in the match. Sanju will be out of the field for more than a month due to injury.
Ranji Trophy will be out of the tournament
Sanju Samson will now start training only after completing his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy. They will need a green signal from NCA to return to the cricket field. Sanju plays for Kerala in domestic cricket. Currently, in the Ranji Trophy, the Kerala team has to play the quarter-final match against Jammu and Kashmir from 8 to 12 February. At the same time, the final match of Ranji Trophy will run from 26 February to 2 March. Sanju will remain out of cricket for a month. In such a situation, he will not be able to play in the upcoming Ranji Trophy tournament.
Full possibility of return to IPL
Sanju Samson has not found a place in the Indian team’s squad for the Champions Trophy 2025. In such a situation, now his return will be directly in the IPL itself. A BCCI source told PTI on the condition of anonymity. Sanju will take five to six weeks to start practice on the net due to injury. So there is no possibility of playing in his Ranji Trophy quarter -finals. It is expected that his return will be for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.
Perpaled against England
Sanju Samson could not perform a strong performance in the T20 series against England and it became difficult to score with his bat. He disappointed everyone with his batting. He was able to score a total of 51 runs in the entire series. Archer, Mark Wood and Saqib Mahmood’s short balls constantly harassed him and he was dismissed in the first six overs of the powerplay.
