3.51 crore rupees for loot seized
The Kalahandi police of Odisha have achieved a major success and exposed an interstate dacoit gang. The police arrested eight criminals involved in the recently robbed and seized cash, weapons, cartridges and vehicles from them Rs 3 crore 51 lakh. The arrested accused have been identified as Tahir Ansari, Hussain Khan, Jasim Khan, Shamim Ansari, Basudev Gope, Pintu Alim and Anuj Kumar. All of them are residents of Ranchi district of Jharkhand.
Rs 3.51 crore was looted from liquor shop
In fact, on 30 January 2025, Rs 3.51 crore was looted from a liquor shop in Dharamgarh in Kalahandi district. The shop owner immediately informed the police. After executing the robbery, the dacoits escaped in the Bolero car. During the investigation, the police tracked the Bolero and detected to reach Jharkhand.
All accused arrested
During the investigation, Kalahandi police first arrested Siraj Ansari and Kameshwar Yadav. The rest of the accused fled to Jharkhand. After this, the Kalahandi police along with the Jharkhand Police arrested all the accused.
Director General of Police praised Kalahandi police
Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania appreciated the hard work and dedication of the Kalahandi police. He said that, “The cluster of this gang will help in curbing inter -state crimes. We have arrested 8 accused and recovered Rs 3.51 crore cash and some weapons from them. During the investigation we have recovered technical methods like CCTV camera , Use of IPDRs etc.
All the accused are being questioned
A case has been registered against the accused under BNS 310, 331, 6, 25, 27 Arms Act. The police is now interrogating the accused to find out which crimes they have been involved in in Odisha or other states.
