Air india fined: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has once again imposed a fine of lakhs of rupees on Tata Group’s airline company Air India. DGCA has imposed a fine of Rs 30 lakh on Air India this time. Air India is alleged to have allowed one of its pilots to operate flight without complying with some regulatory needs, due to which the DGCA had to take strict action against the airline company.

Unnecessary ‘found’ replied by Air India officials

In an order of January 29, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation said that complaints related to the airline rosters are coming up. The order to impose a fine came when the response to the show notice issued to other officials including Operation Head and Rostering Chief of Air India was found to be ‘unsatisfactory’ on 13 December 2024.

Air India pilot violated rules in July last year

The DGCA said in its order, “The Air India pilot operated the flight on July 7, 2024, despite not having a mandatory requirement to fly and landed three times, which has violated the rules.” Air India did not answer the question asked on this issue. Let us tell you that DGCA has imposed a fine on the company several times before. Last year, the DGCA also imposed a fine of Rs 90 lakh on the airline company of Tata Group.
