Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman

Today, the Finance Minister of the country presented the budget in Parliament. During this time he made several major announcements in different areas. He also announced regarding PM Research Fellowship. He said that in the next five years, 10,000 fellowships will be provided under the PM Research Fellowship Scheme for technical research in IIT and IISC.

He said that it was also announced to establish National Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management Institute in Bihar to promote food processing activities in the entire eastern region.

75,000 medical seats will be added in the next five years

The Finance Minister said that the government has added about 1.1 lakh undergraduate and postgraduate medical education seats in 10 years, which is an increase of 130 percent. He said that in the next five years, 10,000 additional seats would be added to medical colleges and hospitals next year to the target of adding 75,000 seats.

Gyan Bharatam Mission will begin

He said that Gyan Bharatam Mission will be started for survey, documentation and protection of our manuscript heritage with educational institutions, museums, libraries and private collector. He said that more than 1 crore manuscripts will be included in it. He said that a national digital collection of Indian knowledge system will be established to exchange knowledge.
