Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said on Friday that the government has decided not to include new IAS and IPS officers in the state cadre, as the state does not require 153 IAS officers for a population of about 70 lakhs.

The number of Indian Forest Service officials will also decrease

In a statement issued here, the Chief Minister said that apart from this, the government aims to reduce the number of Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers. Sukhu told the media during an event in Solan that there is not a single international level airport in the state, and the entire cost of construction of such airports should be borne by the central government.

He said that in addition to this, the Center should also pay full amount for the construction of Bhanupalli-Beri and Chandigarh-Baddi railway lines. In response to a question, the Chief Minister blamed the defective design for this, referring to the poor condition of the Solan-Parvanu Four-Len highway. He said that he had already talked to Union Road Transport and National Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in this regard and requested him to re -design and make other necessary reshuffles to improve the highway condition.

Resolve to improve education system

Earlier on Friday, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu visited the Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Dharamshala, Kangra on the occasion of Girls’ Day and announced one thousand rupees to all 351 girls enrolled in the school. While congratulating the students, he expressed his resolve to improve the education system in the state. He shared his personal experience of studies in government schools and accepted the lack of confidence in the students of these schools.

CA Sukhu assured that the state government is taking decisive steps to create confidence in these children and said that this would help them become responsible and capable citizens. He also emphasized that no student will be deprived of education and the government is focusing on increasing the quality of education. He also visited the Government Senior Secondary School (Bal) in Dharamshala and reviewed the facilities being provided to the students. (Language)
