Afghan fast bowler Shapoor Jadran has announced his retirement from international cricket at the age of 37. Shapoor, who started his career in 2009, has taken a total of 80 wickets in 44 ODIs and 36 T20 matches. His last international match was in 2020, after which he had distanced himself from active cricket. After joining the Afghanistan cricket team in 2009, Shapoor achieved many important achievements for the country and gave a new direction to cricket. Shapoor was recognized as an aggressive bowler and was even more dangerous due to his fast bowling and long stature. He considered Shoaib Akhtar his ideal. Shapoor changed the attitude of matches on several important occasions with his bowling.

Shapoor has played an important role in making Afghanistan cricket a place at the world level. His performance in the 2015 ODI World Cup was very impressive, where he took 10 wickets at an average of 26.50. During this time he dismissed batsmen like Steven Smith, David Warner, Kane Williamson, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Mahmudullah. After this performance, Shapoor was recognized as a world class bowler.

Shapoor’s biggest achievement appeared in a match against Scotland in Dunedin in 2015, when he played an important role in Afghanistan’s first major tournament win. In that match, he took 4 wickets for 38 runs and later scored an unbeaten 12 while batting at number 11, which Afghanistan won by one wicket with three balls remaining. This was a historical moment in the history of Afghanistan cricket, and Shapoor’s performance would always be remembered.
