    Prayagraj About 12 lakh temporary jobs will be created in various sectors during the ongoing Maha Kumbh on the Sangam banks. That means, along with the dip of faith, Mahakumbh is also improving the fortunes and pockets of 12 lakh people. The assessment by NLB Services, a global technology and digital talent solutions provider, is based on internal data analysis and industry reports. The Uttar Pradesh government hopes that about 40 crore devotees can come to the Mahakumbh, which will start from January 13 to February 26. Due to this, Sangam has become a big business center this time. People are getting plenty of opportunities to earn.

    Tourism and hospitality industry at the forefront

    Sachin Alug, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NLB Services, said that this historic confluence on the banks of Sangam has emerged as an energy center from the point of view of economic development and temporary employment. He said, the economic impact of Mahakumbh is spread in many areas. Sectors like infrastructure development, event management, security services, local trade, tourism, entertainment and horticulture are promoting growth in both traditional and modern businesses. Alug said that about 4.5 lakh temporary jobs are expected to be created during the Maha Kumbh in the tourism and hospitality industry alone. These include roles such as hotel staff, tour guides, porters, travel advisors and event coordinators.

    Lots of opportunities in retail sector also

    Similarly, about three lakh jobs are expected to be created in the transport and logistics sector. These include positions of drivers, supply chain managers, courier personnel and other support staff. Around 1.5 lakh freelance nurses, para-medical staff and allied healthcare professionals are expected to get opportunities in the temporary medical camps set up during the Maha Kumbh that will last for about one and a half months. There is also expected to be a surge in demand during this period in the information technology and technology sector, in which approximately two lakh professionals will be required. Meanwhile, around one lakh jobs are also expected to be created in retail businesses catering to the needs of devotees. Retail businesses deploy sales and customer support staff on the ground to meet demand for religious items, souvenirs and local products.
