Donald Trump will take oath as President today.
Washington: Donald Trump is going to take oath as the President of America on January 20. After assuming the post, he is going to be seen in action. Donald Trump is scheduled to sign more than 100 executive orders immediately after entering the White House. He will be waiting for him at the Oval Office desk, which his team has prepared for the beginning of his second term. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will represent the Government of India at the swearing-in ceremony of Donald Trump to be held on Monday.
Will sign executive orders
Let us tell you that the main objective of the executive orders that Donald Trump is going to sign is to fulfill the election promises. In an interview with NBC News, Trump said he planned to sign a record number of executive orders on his first day. Executive order is an order issued unilaterally by the President, which has the force of law. Unlike statutes, executive orders do not require congressional approval. Congress cannot overturn them, but they can be challenged in court.
These topics will be special
Stephen Miller, one of Trump’s close aides, said it would mainly include five topics. Sealing the southern border, ending mass deportations, barring transgender people from women’s sports, lifting restrictions on energy exploration, and improving government efficiency. The executive orders are expected to pardon his supporters who were arrested for their role in the January 6 attack on Capitol Hill four years ago. Trump is also expected to withdraw some of Biden’s executive orders. Among them, Paris Climate Agreement and removal of ban on fossil fuel production are prominent.
7,800 guard soldiers will be on duty
About 7,800 Guard troops from more than forty states and U.S. territories will be on duty on the day of Trump’s inauguration. The military chiefs of the Army, Navy and Air Force will take over as caretakers of the respective services, officials said. As is the practice, all current political appointees will resign from their posts with effect from 12 noon on January 20. This would leave hundreds of positions vacant at the Defense Department, including dozens that require Senate approval.
Mother’s symbol will remain with you
When Donald Trump takes oath as the 47th President of America, his mother’s memento will be with him. The committee associated with Trump’s swearing-in ceremony said that he will use the Bible given by his mother and the Lincoln Bible during his swearing-in. Let us tell you that Donald Trump’s mother gave him a Bible in Jamaica, New York in 1955. Donald Trump was then studying primary school at the First Presbyterian Church. He has kept this Bible, which he received from his mother, ever since. Trump’s name is written on the bottom of the cover of this Bible. The committee said that apart from this, Lincoln Bible will also be used in the swearing-in ceremony.
Who administers the oath?
In America, the responsibility of administering the oath to the newly elected President rests with the Chief Justice of the United States. Led by the head of the US Supreme Court, the new President takes an oath to perform his duties in accordance with the Constitution. This oath is in very simple words. In this the President takes an oath that he will follow the Constitution of America. Will fulfill the responsibilities of his post with full devotion.
