Bhojpuri superstar and politician Ravi Kishan has a huge fan following. Ravi Kishan is a well-known actor not only in Bhojpuri but also in Bollywood and South film industry. He has made a splash by working as a villain, politician and actor in many films. Born in Bisuin village of Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh, Ravi has made a unique place for himself in Indian cinema. Now he is making a splash with his movies and web series on OTT also. There was a time when Ravi had to go against his family to fulfill his passion of acting.

Played the role of Sita and got beaten

Talking about his acting journey and his role in ‘Laapta Ladies’, in an interview given to Aaj Tak, Ravi Kishan had said that he is very happy that people love him so much. Describing the beginning of his career, he said, ‘I am the son of a priest. I had nothing, just the spirituality and honesty that my father had taught me. I used to do theatre, I used to play the role of Sitaji in Ramleela in my childhood. My father even beat me for this. He used to say Nachaniya Banbe because being a Brahmin in the 80s and 90s, he could not understand what acting was.

Not only in Bhojpuri but also in South and Hindi cinema.

Ravi Kishan told that his career is the result of 34 years of struggle. While trying to make his mark, he also worked in Telugu films, Hindi films and television. He said, ‘I had to struggle and this is the result of 34 years of struggle. I have worked in the South Industry, I have done Hindi films and you must have seen me on television also. I have been struggling to create my own identity. I always tried to combine naturalness and swag in my acting. But, I was not getting the chance. Then I met Kiran Rao (Director, Missing Ladies) and my luck shined… I got a chance to do wonders on OTT as well.
