Because till now the people of Jharkhand have been changing the government every 5 years. If JMM wins here, it will become the first party in the state to return to power for the second consecutive time.
But the question is, what mistake did the BJP, which had wiped out the opposition in Maharashtra, make in Jharkhand due to which it could not come close to power? Is it to be believed that Hemant Soren’s jailing and the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) action against him created new sympathy for him among the tribals, which also ended the anti-incumbency of the government in the state against Soren? Has the government’s announcement of increasing the scheme of giving Rs 1000 per month to women’s accounts every month and increasing it to Rs 2500 per month when their government comes back to power, turned the women in their favor? Why did BJP’s move backfire?
BJP had made Hemant Soren’s corruption and land jihad and infiltration an issue in Jharkhand elections, but it seems that ED action against Hemant Soren and then his jailing… Then Soren’s sister-in-law Sita Soren and then BJP’s efforts to include Champai Soren in its party spoiled its game. It seems that the people of Jharkhand and the tribals considered these incidents as harassment of Hemant Soren, hence the public sympathized with Hemant Soren. Therefore, none of BJP’s issues could be implemented here.
Women gave victory to Soren
If the trends change in the results, then it will become clear that the women of Jharkhand voted enthusiastically in favor of Hemant Soren this time. Two reasons can be considered as the main reasons behind this. The first is that the scheme of Rs 1000 per month coming in their accounts is expected to increase to Rs 2500 after Soren’s return and the entry of Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana Soren into the fray will generate sympathy among women, which will help BJP in Jharkhand. Soren’s penetration increased among tribals
If JMM returns to Jharkhand, it will be considered that Hemant Soren’s penetration among the tribals has deepened. He went to jail while he was the Chief Minister. Then after coming back from jail and taking control of the CM seat again, he was successful in increasing the confidence of the tribals and creating a wave of sympathy towards himself among them. Therefore, even the anti-incumbency of Soren government could not bring BJP to power here. The tribals probably linked every action taken against Soren to their identity and it became ingrained with them.
