Priyanshu Rajawat: 22-year-old Priyanshu Rajawat is performing brilliantly in the Canada Open badminton tournament. He has been successful in impressing everyone with his game. Now he has done something big. Rising player Priyanshu Rajawat continued his brilliant performance and confirmed his place in the semi-finals by defeating top seed and world number four player Anders Antonsen of Denmark. He gave a tough fight to Antonsen and eventually won the match.

Rajawat registered the biggest win of his career

Priyanshu Rajawat defeated Anders Antonsen in the Canada Open badminton tournament. World number 39 player Rajawat defeated Antonsen 21-11, 17-21, 21-19 in a quarterfinal match that lasted one hour and 19 minutes on Friday night. Rajawat registered the biggest victory of his career by defeating Antonsen. This is the first time that this 22-year-old Indian player defeated a top 10 player.

Reached the semi-finals of the Super-500 tournament for the second time

Priyanshu Rajawat has reached the semi-finals of the World Tour Super 500 tournament for the second time where he will face Alex Lanier of France. Rajawat started well and at one point in the first game he was leading 7-4. However, Antonsen soon equalized the score to 9-9. The Indian player then scored five consecutive points. Antonsen again tried to make a comeback but Rajawat scored seven consecutive points to win the first game.

At one point the score was tied at 17-17 but the Danish player scored four consecutive points to take the match to the deciding game. In the third game, Rajawat was at one point leading 5-1 but Antonsen managed to gain a slight lead of 11-10 by the interval. After this, both the players gave a tough challenge to each other but Rajawat scored two consecutive points at a score of 19-19 to win the match. Rajawat had defeated players with higher rankings than him earlier as well. He had entered the quarter-finals by defeating world number 24 player Rasmus Gemke of Denmark and 33rd ranked Takuma Obayashi of Japan.
