London: The Labour Party has won the general election held in Britain on July 4 by securing a huge majority. The Labour Party has won more than 400 seats so far and many big leaders of the Conservative Party have lost in this election. According to reports, Conservative Party leader and former British Prime Minister Liz Truss has also lost the election from the South West Norfolk seat. She was defeated by Terry Jeremy of the Labour Party by a margin of 630 votes.

Rishi Sunak accepts defeat

Outgoing Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has accepted defeat and congratulated Labour Party leader Keir Starmer. The Conservative Party is facing the worst defeat in its history. However, Rishi Sunak has won the election from his seat. Official results have shown that the Labour Party has won a huge majority to form the next government. By around 7 am on Friday, the Labour Party has won 410 out of 650 seats.

Conservative government gone after 14 years

Britain’s Indian-origin Prime Minister Sunak won the Richmond and Northallerton seat in northern England with a margin of 23,059 votes, but he failed to get his party back to power after 14 years of government in the country. Sunak said, ‘The Labor Party has won this general election and I have called Sir Keir Starmer to congratulate him on his victory.’ During this, Sunak was accompanied by his wife Akshata Murthy.

Sunak said, ‘Today there will be a peaceful and orderly change of power and this is something that should give us confidence in the stability and future of our country.’ Outgoing Prime Minister Sunak said that there is a lot to learn and ponder over from these results. Taking responsibility for the defeat in Britain’s general election, he told the voters, ‘Forgive me.’

Keir Starmer expressed gratitude

Labour Party’s Keir Starmer has won the Holborn and St Pancras seat and can become the new Prime Minister of the country. On the victory of the Labour Party in the results so far, 61-year-old Starmer said, ‘I will be your voice, I will support you, I will fight for you every day. Change starts from here because this is your democracy, your community, your future. You have voted. Now the time has come for us to do our work.’ Starmer thanked all the voters after his party’s victory.
