    Affidavit on NEET paper leak in Supreme Court

    The CBI is busy arresting the accused in the NEET paper leak case. Meanwhile, the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) of the Bihar government has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court in the NEET-UG paper leak case. In the affidavit, the EOU said that on May 5, 2024, Patna Police received a complaint of irregularities in the NEET exam. On the basis of this, Patna Police has arrested 13 accused. Out of these 13, four accused students are those who appeared in the exam.

    Suspicious documents and mobiles were confiscated

    Also, in the affidavit given in the Supreme Court, it was also told that some suspicious documents and mobiles were also seized at the time of arrest. The accused have been sent to judicial custody after interrogation.

    The accused confessed to rigging the NEET exam

    Bihar Police said in its affidavit that when they investigated the matter, they found out that some of the accused were involved in the paper leak incident earlier as well. Four accused confessed to the police that they were involved in NEET scam. Bihar Police had formed an 8-member SIT in this case.

    Paper leak is also connected to another state Jharkhand

    When Bihar police proceeded with the investigation, they found that many people were involved in it. Also, the strings of NEET scam were found to be connected to another state Jharkhand. The NEET paper leak case was also investigated in Jharkhand.

    On June 24, the CBI took over the case

    The Bihar government submitted its investigation report to the Union Education Ministry on June 20. On June 24, the CBI took over the case from the Bihar Police. The lawyer on behalf of the Bihar government filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court saying that the case is now with the CBI. Therefore, now more information related to this case cannot be shared.
