Indian cricketers were honored
The Indian team won the T20 World Cup 2024 title on 29 June. With this victory, Team India’s long wait for the ICC trophy also ended. India won the World Cup title under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Rohit Sharma has become the second Indian captain to win the T20 World Cup for India. Earlier, India won this title in the year 2007 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. Team India defeated South Africa by 7 runs in the final of T20 World Cup 2024. When Team India returned to India with the trophy on 4 July, they were given a lot of respect everywhere. During this, the players were also honored by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met cricketers from Maharashtra who are part of India’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad at his residence in Mumbai on Friday, July 5. The Maharashtra CM felicitated Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal for their role in India’s T20 World Cup win. Indian cricketers and fans celebrated the success of the T20 World Cup 2024 with a grand victory parade and felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday. Eknath Shinde invited cricketers associated with the Mumbai Cricket Association to Varsha Bungalow, the official residence of the Maharashtra Chief Minister located in the Malabar Hills area. Apart from this, the Maharashtra government also invited the cricketers to be felicitated in front of the Vidhan Sabha.
Rohit Sharma gave a statement in the assembly
Rohit Sharma put forth his point in the assembly. Where he said that hello to everyone, thank you CM sir for inviting us here. He just told me that this is the first program here and we are very happy with it. We players are also very happy to see all this in Mumbai yesterday. It was our 11-year-old wait for the World Cup, we last won the ICC trophy in 2013. I am very grateful to my teammates, not only Dubey, Surya and Yashasvi but to all those who contributed to India’s success. I was fortunate to get such a team, everyone was brilliant in their efforts. Everyone stepped up when the opportunity came. Rohit further said about Surya’s catch that after the match was over, Surya told him how that catch got stuck in his hands. If that catch had not happened, I would have trapped Surya. Rohit put forth his point in a funny manner.
